Privacy Policy

Crave ("we", "us") is operated by Alpha Code Studio. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what control you have. We do not sell your personal data.
Information we collect
- Account information — your email address and an encrypted password, used to create and secure your account.
- Food preferences — goal, calorie and macro targets, liked and disliked ingredients, allergens, and any free-text description you write about yourself.
- App content — recipes you save, meals you log, your shopping list, and which recipes you swiped left or right on (used to improve your recommendations).
- Optional body metrics — if you use the calorie calculator, the height, weight, age, sex and activity level you enter. These stay on your account and are used only to calculate your targets.
- Subscription status — your plan and renewal date. Payments are processed by Apple; we never receive or store your card details.
We do not collect location, contacts, photos, or device identifiers for tracking. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.
How we use it
- To generate recipes that match your targets, tastes and restrictions.
- To sync your cookbook, macros and preferences across your devices.
- To operate subscriptions and enforce plan limits.
- To fix bugs and improve the app.
Third parties we share with
- OpenAI — when you request recipes, your preferences (targets, likes, dislikes, allergens, your "about me" text) are sent to OpenAI to generate recipe text and images. Do not enter information you don't want processed this way. See OpenAI's privacy policy at openai.com/policies/privacy-policy.
- Supabase — hosts our database and authentication. Your account data is stored there under access controls that limit each row to its owner.
- Apple — processes subscription payments and provides purchase receipts.
Data retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account exists. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from Profile → Legal & data → Delete my account inside the app. Deletion is immediate and irreversible. You may also email us at crave@alphacodestudio.com to request deletion.
Your rights
If you are in the EEA or UK, you have the right to access, correct, export, restrict or delete your personal data, and to object to processing. Contact us at crave@alphacodestudio.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Children
Crave is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. Because the app deals with calories and nutrition, we recommend it for users 17 and over.
Security
Data is transmitted over TLS and stored with row-level access controls so that only your account can read your data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
Changes
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
